ROAD TRIP

This weekend Aasha and I took our first ROAD TRIP together and we had a wonderful time!!! We left after sacrament meeting to Kennewick. (in the Tri- Cities) As we were leaving it had started to snow in North Bend and just barely stick to the ground, so we were a bit nervous because it was supposed to continue snowing all the way until Monday night when we were planning on going home. We got to Kennewick in good time and had no troubles. We got to our dear friends, the Claybrooks around 2 pm.

(This is a old picture of their family)
We visited for a while and then Aasha and I helped Kristi make some pumpkin pie, pumpkin chocolate chip cookies and pumpkin chocolate chip bread from scratch. After cleaning up from all of that we packed up the cookies and piled into their van and headed over to their grandparents house for a big Sunday dinner. We had a grand time! When we got home we made up some bean dip (it was supper good and super easy- 1 can of refried beans, 1 can of chili and 1 box of cream cheese, warm up and serve with chips)and watched "The Testament" which is a super good movie for any of you who havent seen it. After the movie we realized that we had not yet cooked up the bread so while we waited for that to cook Kristi, Aasha and I played Phase 10... like always I came in last, but we had tons of fun!!!

About 5:30 in the morning i had Audrey, Nicole and their cat climb onto the couch to sleep with me. SO CUTE!!!! We then had a pancake breakfast and after that Aasha and I packed up. We then headed out for our trip home. Things didnt seem to get too bad until we got to the pass. You could not see the roads, it was windy and snowy and were in two white outs. But Aasha proved herself to be a good and talented driver. Good Job Aasha!!!

Thank you so much sis for a wondeful trip!!! and Thank you Claybrooks for a fun visit!!!

I am thankful for...

My heart is very full of thankfulness today. I could literally go on forever with everything I'm thankful for but i thought i would share a few of them with you today.
I am thankful for the gospel- for being born into a family that is already in the church, because if i wasn't i probably wouldn't of found the church or accepted it. I am thankful for my parents and their loving example to me. I am grateful to have a big family, with three amazing sisters and an wonderful brother. I am thankful for my education, even if its not the greatest school I'm grateful to be able to go to school. I am extremely appreciative for all the leaders i have had in church and for the little seeds they have planted within me; because of them i now have the great love for the gospel that i have today. I am grateful for a living prophet who leads and guides us in a challenging world. I am grateful for trials- even if i feel that i have too many and that i cant overcome them i am grateful because of them i have grown so much! I am grateful for hot chocolate, fires, Christmas music, brushes to sing into, warm pj's, books, email, fruit, hair ribbons, contacts, facebook, mean teachers who push me to the limit. I am thankful for extended family members, homemade bread, holidays, cars to travel in, my dad's job, annoying cats that make my dad laugh, movies, mountains to climb, sunsets, bright colors, laughter, sadness, happiness, snow, sun, rainbows, primary kids who so willingly share they pure testimonies, fresh cut grass, family reunions and picnic's, electricity, cookie pans, camping, fuzzy warm coats, beautiful hair, BOYS, art, beautiful things, Michael Buble, the radio, river rocks, grooveshark, letters in the mail, Natalie Cole and chocolate...

I'm Back!

There is so much to go over since my last post, i mean i could literally go on forever!!! But I wont bore you with all that. So I will just briefly tell ya some basics.

I am now a Jr. at Mount Si High School. I am taking seven classes a day, i have morning seminary at six am!!! This means im up by four am, crazy, right? Then i go to the high school to take geometry with Mrs. Slecta, Chemistry with Mr. Hagler, Health with Mrs. Backstrom, U.S. History with Mr. D'Ambrosio, French 3 with Mme. Daudurand (we all call her Karine) and then American Literature with Mrs. Young-Blanchard. It's not the funnest schedule but it works, right? I am still taking art lessons with Beth Hays; and i have just recently just finished a cake decorating class for beginners at Micheal's Craft store. It was soooo much fun!

Aasha has finished her first year of college, and will be starting back up in January; which in her opinion isn't coming fast enough. Until then she works two jobs. She works at Kids and Baby Gap and Nine West (a shoe store).

Hyram is in seventh grade. He is in the regular concert band and jazz band; and he plays two instruments the trombone and the baritone. He is also really enjoying his trombone lessons every Saturday morning.

Tyra is in fifth grade and thoroughly loving it. Her old piano teacher went off to collage so now she is taking piano lessons from Sister Espanoza from the North Bend ward. She says its a little challenging but you can really hear some talent when she plays.

Hanna is in fourth grade and eating up all that she can learn in school. She is especially excited to be starting up violin lessons from one of my good church friends Katy Crowley.

Diana Whitlock moved out and now we have my cousin on my dad's side of the family living with us, Russell Hansen. He works at Jiffy lube.

As for recent news in my family we are all very excited because on the 22 of this month my Grandma Morrill will be coming up to live with us for one whole month!!! She will be here for both Thanksgiving and Christmas. And then to make news two times better my Grandma and Grandpa Patteson will be coming up for Christmas!!! Could my family be any more excited or happier? (hahaha) So as of now my mom is fixing up the laundry room for my Grandma Morrill to stay in and she has been busy for the past few weeks making homemade curtains for the living room, dinning room, Hyram's room and the laundry room; and might i say that she is doing a splendid job!!! My dad is constantly busy building fires to keep me warm (thank you dad!) working and he is fixing up a Volvo that he just bought for his new commuter car in the winter.

This will be it for now but i promise to write soon! Good night!

BYU? Already?

So as most of you might of already heard... I really don't like school. Big whoop. Well last year and this year i have been trying so hard to fit in and make it work out, but sometimes it just doesn't work. Two of my classes this year i was especially feeling like i didn't fit or was learning anything. Language Arts and Geometry.
Iv heard so many great, wonderful, amazing and good things about WAVA, so i thought i would try it out. But because of miscommunication i missed the deadline... :(
That same night i was talking with my friend Emmy (a non-member Friend), and she was telling me about the program she's been going through for the past couple of years. She had only good things to say about it and was really pleased with the program. Can you guess who she is going through?
(Hint)

Yep... you guessed it! She's going through BYU Independent Studies.
Not only do i now have a way that i could maybe introduce the gospel to her, but She introduced me to a wonderful program! I absolutly love it! And cant wait to explore it more... :)

Animals?

Our cat midnight has always had to just put up with my family. So being dressed up as a Sugar Plum Fairy was nothing new to him...

Recently a lady my mother works for had to give away her two birds. So guess who got them? Yep, you guessed it, WE DID!!!
When we received the birds and heard their names (Bucky and Amanda)Those names were absolutely out! It took us about 2-3 hours to finally come up with the perfect names for them, but whew!... we did it!
Can you guess?

That's right! Lil'Abner and Daisy May
