Lots of apples + Hungry Elk = NO APPLES!

My mom is helping Sister Thompson in the ward get ready for an applesauce making class that will be happening Tuesday the 13th. (which is tonight) Well Last Wednesday My mom, Aasha, Hyram, Tyra and Hanna all went over the the Noles (in the Snoqualmie Falls Ward) to go pick apples. It turns out that her nephew was there a few days before, and shook all of that apples out of the tree, and then put them on a wheelbarrow on her porch. She let my mom choose what she wanted, and then the rest she was gonna use for canning, and making Delicious other foods. Well my mom filled this giant box with these red apples, that would make perfect applesauce. She left them in the box out in the carport where we all thought they would stay cold and perfect! Well... We thought wrong...
We woke up on a Saturday morning. It seemed like a perfect day! And my dad thought, "What better way is there to start a day besides one that is started with a cup of homemade apple juice?" So he went out to the car port to collect a few apple to make his juice with; And this is what he found...

The elk not only ate up all of our precious apples... they also left hoof prints like this EVERYWHERE!

Little pieces of apples were left all over the carport... lucky elk!

And i was getting quit excited for that applesauce... darn.

Moral of the story is- Either you need to be more careful to where you leave your applesauce
Or
You need to always be ready to chase away unwanted guests

Cotton Eye Joe Problems

Last Saturday night, Aasha and Deanna really wanted to go to the stake dance, but i really didn't want to... but somehow they forced me to. All was going well, until they turned on my most favorite line dance song... The Cotton Eye Joe. I was actually having alot of fun, but then during the kicking part... My right foot when up and as it was just hitting the floor and my left foot was going up, someone behind me (don't have a clue to who it was... which is probably better cause now no-one feels bad for anything) accidentally kicked the back of my knee, and i rolled up on my toes and then fell backwards. I kinda landed on my bum and my right foot and my left foot was out in front of me. I sat there for a moment stunned, and alot of people came over to help me up. As soon as i stood on it, tears came to my eyes, and my right foot and ankle was hurting like heck! Aasha and Deanna were nice enough to leave the dance early. (even if it was only 3 minutes early) That night mom wrapped it up and i slept out on the couch, surely convinced that i had only bruised it badly. The next morn, it still hurt really bad and i couldn't walk on it. So dad took me into the urgent care in town. He told me that i pulled a tendon in my foot (luckily i didn't tare it or i would need surgery) and I also chipped a piece of bone off of my ankle. (Which is a common thing when you pull of tare a tendon in the foot) So now lucky me... I get to ware a most fashionable boot for the next 3 WEEKS! The i get an air cast for about a week or two, and then an ace bandage for a while. I also got a subscription for crutches, but... i don't think I'm gonna get them... i don't think ill like them. So i guess you could say that I'm starting this school year out to one heck of a lucky start, wouldn't you agree?

I GOT IT!!!!!

Today at 10 am i went in for my first job interview. I was so nervous. I spent like 1.7 hours getting ready, so that i looked really nice for the interview. I wore a white button up shirt with a thin black belt that goes over it. I wore some nice light colored blue jeans, with some 1 inch black and bronze heals that have a bronze flower on the front, and than i straightened my hair and clipped back the front. But even though i looked super fabulous (if i do say so myself) i felt so nervous. I got there about 5 minutes early, but i figured that early is better than late, so i went right in. The manager, Lindsy took me right back to her office. And she immediately started asking me questions about myself and why i wanted to work there, and where else i applied. And then she asked me why I thought i would be a great person to work for Carter's. So i told her that I am very good with other people. I love to be around little kids and I am a very bubbly and happy person. Lindsy turned to me with a huge smile on her face, and then said, "As far as I'm concerned... You've got the job!" I was soooooooo surprised! But i am sooooooooooo excited! I start on the third of September. She said that because I'm still a student, she's gonna let me help her wright my working schedule, so that i still have plenty of time for homework. I cant believe that I got it but i am so excited that i can now start to save for college. Gosh, I'm not even graduated and I'm already talking about saving for the future!

Sweet Sixteen At Last

So every one talks about how big of a party they are gonna have for their sweet 16th birthday. But they never really realize how hard it is to plan the party. You have to consider the expense, the excitement and the girly moments. I have spent half of this year trying to come up with something really fun to do. And I couldn't come up with ANYTHING! I thought I was gonna be a helpless boring 16 year old girl with no imagination.
Wednesday the 5th, After babysitting my mom picked me up to go shopping. I got a movie, a new shirt and a super pretty blue fancy dress. But then we had to get home to get Hyram to scouts on time. But little did i know what was waiting for me. I walked in the door. Hanna and Tyra had their hair braided, they were in matching shirts and skirts(very flowy like a poodle skirt), and they were both wearing roller-blades. Hyram had on jeans that were rolled up a little, White socks with his black penny-loafers, a blue t-shirt that was tucked into his pants, and a blue button-up shirt (un-buttoned)with his coller pulled up and his hair combed back. Definitely not ready for scouts. Aasha was dressed normal but had an odd smile. She looked at me and told me to go look in the kitchen. I walked slowly into the kitchen and... Jessica Adams, Molly Cordell, Kyra Betterige, Emmily McCann, Danielle Schott and Jammee Gregory all jumped out and yelled, "HAPPY SWEET SIXTEEN!!!!!!!" Next I was told to look in the dinning room. In my mind I'm thinking, who else did they invite, or what else did they invite! (eeeeeeeek!!!!) The dinning room was all decorated as a 50's dinner.

Posters, table cloth, records, cars, trumpet and licence plates. We all got a menu, and then ordered our dinner. Aasha was our waitress for the evening. When our hamburgers and beacon burgers were finished, Hanna and Tyra brought them in to us on roller blades. Just like an old fashioned dinner. After our fabulous dinner we watched Hair Spray, opened presents (Jessica- Blue shirt and matching flip flops; Molly and Danielle-Micheal's gift card; Jamme- necklace and bracelet; Emmy- cook book and sketch book; Kyra- lots of candy and a cold stones gift card), ate ice-cream Sundays, watched Grease and then the new "Race to Witch Mountain." We finally headed out to the tent at 2:40(ish) after making up beds we all talked alot. We were determined to stay up till 5 a.m. But that was kind of hard to do. Danielle fell asleep at 2:50 (ish). I fell asleep around 3:40(ish), Molly- 4:03 Jessica-4:20 Kyra and Jammee- 4:30. No one made it to five. Around 9:30 a.m we all woke up, came in to the house and ate German pancakes. And then everyone went home. It was a wonderful birthday. I totally didn't expect anything. (even if i was in the room when Aasha was printing up the invitations, or when plans were being made on the phone, or Jessica trying to keep it a secret and doing badly at that.) I loved my birthday and I think I'm gonna love being 16!

A Giant Leep into a Pioneer Trek

So much happened on trek that I could not possibly ever tell you everything. So I'm just gonna give a day by day description. OK?
Now lets start...
Wednesday~ Everyone met up in some place on a really hot and sunny hill to eat lunch and find out who our trek families were gonna be. I was put into the best family EVER!!!!!!! My ma was Tonya (Tony) and my pa was Lee Young. I had 4 brothers- Mike, Jared, Anthony and Cameron. Each one of them were super fun to be with, they were all always happy and they were very very very strong. I had 4 sisters- Adrianna, Emily, Chelsey and Amanda. Who were equally fun to hang with and equally very strong. The fist day we had to hike 13.2 miles. Or at least my company (Yellow- Kimball) did. There were two other companies Green/Blue Grant and the Red Huntington, they accidentally took the wrong road and had to travel a few extra miles. By the end of the day, we were all very tired and very worn out. I don't think that a stale roll and hot chicken broth has ever tasted so good in my life.
Thursday~ We woke up and ate a nasty oatmeal. (but of coarse i have never liked any cereal, so to eat oatmeal for breakfast was horrible.) Then two boys from every family were chosen to be apart of the Mormon Battalion. Our two younger brothers, Anthony and Cameron chose to go. I didnt really realize how strong they were until they were gone. That same day we did what was called a Women's pull. Where just the girls would pull the handcart, up 2 hills. Occasionally our ma's would help and sometimes some random lady who you don't know would come help push the cart and then dissapre. I don't know how, but for some reason this pull didn't seem any harden then when the whole family was there. (That day we hiked 6 miles) That afternoon we made it to a big open grassy field... The Salt Lake Valley. When we got there we ate oranges- which tasted sooooooo good. Then we played pioneer games, ate scones, drake pink lemonade and washed our hair. Or at least some people did, i didn't want to, because my hair doesn't braid. Then that night we had a hoedown.
Friday/Trek Sabbath~ This was the day that we got to put on a fresh new pair of cloths. It felt soooooooooo incredibly good!!! We went down to the stage for a little while, then we split off into company R.S and Priesthood. After that we had age group classes. Then we went to family council time. Next we went out into the woods, by our selves, for solo time. It was 3 hours where we got to read letters written to us by our families and write in our journals or read a church magazine or the sciptures. But Solo time was soon re-named as "Bug War." We made dinner as a family and then went back down to the stage for a testimony meeting.
Saturday~ This day we only had to hike 3 miles out and it was mostly easy we were told. But this day was the hardest out of all of the days for me. I had some really bad blisters on both of my feet that had popped. I could hardly walk on them, my stomach hurt I had a headache and I had a 102/103 temp. I was told i was not allowed to help push the cart. And then after 20 minutes of hiking behind my family, my ma and the Trek nurse felt like it was not good for me to be out in the heat hiking. So they made me ride in the first aid car the rest of the way down. Telling my family good-bye was the hardest thing ever. I couldn't stop crying, which was probably really bad considering i was also really dehydrated. But we all made it down the mountain safe and happy, so all was good.
Now most people would say that pushing a 500 pound cart for 22.2 miles up and down really steep and extremely rocky hills in a pioneer dress on very little food, drinking water out of a dusty cup in the heat for 4 days... well they wouldn't really say that's alot of fun... But to me, i think it was the best experience of my life. And i hope to go back many more times.

(right outside of Boise)
~That night we went over to Paige's mom and dad's house. There was a concert across feield in the back of their house, and after the concert they were going to set of fireworks. While we were waiting we had a tong of fun playing around with pop and my camera.
(july 1st)

And then we had fun watching the fireworks...

At the end of the finalli, something went wrong and the whole street caught on fire. It was totally unexpected and we had a ton of fun watching it. And watching the little kids run around yelling..."FIRE!FIRE!FIRE!"
~ The next day my dad and Clair took all of us kids and teens to the dollar theater to watch the movie "Earth." And then we went over to some friends of the families (actually they are really just like family to us) Rob and Decembers sot the kids could go swiming and have dinner. Mom and Lilli also worked on Marissa's, Alicia's and my trek dresses.

~ Next day was soooooooooooooooooo hot so we went to the park for lunch.

The kids went swiming, Marissa and Aasha walked around the park and Alicia and I got drenched with water, layed on the ground reading books and played life together. That night we played "BF" all night long, and were pretty hipper.
~FOURTH OF JULY!!!!!!!!! We went shopping for a little then we went over to Rob and December's again.

While all the kids and teens were in the pool...

I helped cute chicken, fruites, made carmel corn and helped make a spinich dip. Then we ate a ton and talked even more, ate some more, made homemade rootbeer and icecream, watched fireworks...

...ate and talked and talked some more. And then we all went home around midnight.
~Sunday morning Mom, Dad, Hyram, Tyra, Hanna, Aasha, Marissa, Alicia and I all left in our eight passenger car for our 8 hour and 9 minute drive back to North Bend, Washington.

And i am glad to say that we all made it... ALIVE!!!!!!!!!

Its... La Push

The day after Aasha's graduation, we headed out early (or at least we attempted) to Forks Washington, and... La Push.

The car ride was a very long and rather boring ride i was told. I would really know because Aasha and I slept for almost the entire 4 HOURS out there. We drove through Forks. If ever you go there make sure not to blink because if you do... You'll miss it, and that's really not a joke. IT IS TINY! And there is a lot of Twilight signs all over the town. We even saw a burger shop where they sell Bella Burgers. So then we kept driving for another 30-40 minutes to La Push. Now to tell you the truth, when Aasha told the family that she wanted to go to La Push for one of her graduation presents, in my mind i was thinking, "this will be soooooooooooooooooo boreing." But i was WRONG! As soon as we reached the beach i knew that. It was soooooooooooooooooooooo beautiful! It was a very foggy day, you could only see the ocean, a few rocks sticking out and nothing past that. But the beach (had no fog) had very warm sand that felt sooooooooooooo good when walking barefoot on it. And the water wasn't really all that cold. It did feel nice. And the best part was the whole beach didn't have any of that really nasty fishy oceany smell that all ocean beaches have. I LOVED IT!

This is a dog that we named Fred. We started at the middle of the beach and walked to the end of the right side of it. Somewhere along the way we happened to adopt a really fat back dog that had really small and skinny legs. He didn't have a collar, and wouldn't fetch sticks... he would only fetch rocks. And not just any kind of rocks... the biggest ones that he could fit in his mouth. He followed us all along the beach until we kind of out walked him towards the end.

Because he had such stubby short legs, and he was so fat and was almost always carrying a huge rock in his mouth he would walk slow. My mom and dad didn't want to take him home with us, even though he was homeless and really cute (and i don't even like dogs), so we decided to walk faster and we lost him. It was pretty sad.
The whole day was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much fun. We watched surfers attempt to surf and then fall, we ate a very good lunch, walked the whole beach, visited the most beautiful and most blue lake EVER! Crescent Lake,

we ate dinner at a restaurant at 10 pm, and then got home at 12:30- 1 am(ish) and spent the inter day together. It was the best trip i have ever had.

Is she really?

Is my sister really graduating on Friday. (Tomorrow!) Wow, she has really grown up fast.

Next winter she's gonna be going off to BYU Idaho.(that school has the nick name of the "marraige school" because most girls get their MRS. degree before they get anything else. I sure hope that's not what Aasha is planning on getting...Or at least not this early.)When she goes off, i know that she will have LOADS and even more LOADS of fun, but...Im gonna kinda miss her here at home.

Im gonna miss our shopping trips together, staying up late talking and laughing together, short walks down to the bus stop, dancing in the living room, driving to school, chatting on facebook with her when she's right across the room from me, sitting next to her in the car on a long car trip playing games talking and laughing, singing very loudly and very off key with her in the car and i will also miss waking up everymoring and playing fashion consultant with her.

She's the best sister any girl(or boy) could have, and I wish we could just stay like this forever.
